Editorial Standards

Editorial Standards

Readers should be able to trust what they read here — and know exactly when something is sponsored. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.

Editorial independence

Our editorial coverage is independent and is never paid for. A business cannot buy a favorable review, a ranking, or a place in our coverage. What we recommend, we recommend on the merits.

We offer local businesses a clearly labeled Business Spotlight. Sponsored pieces always carry a visible “Business Spotlight · Sponsored” label, and their outbound links are marked rel="sponsored". We keep paid placements visibly separate from editorial, so you always know which is which.

Accuracy and sources

We ground local facts — addresses, hours, prices, programs — in primary and official sources, and we check business details before we publish. Local information changes often, so we always encourage you to confirm specifics (especially event times and business hours) directly with the organizer or business.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and note material changes. Spotted an error? Email [email protected] and we’ll review it.
