How we’re funded

The Beacon is free to read: no subscriptions, no paywalls. We’re supported by clearly labeled local sponsorships — our Business Spotlight placements, which local businesses pay for and which we always mark as sponsored. Advertising never buys editorial coverage; see our Editorial Standards for how we keep that line bright.

Why it matters
